I would like to share my other passion with you – photography.

My main subjects are my sweet girls, of course, our kitty Katniss & black lab Bailey. I also enjoy photographing food I prepare (I also looooove cooking and baking!) for my family and anything I come across that catches my eye.

If you ever have any questions, would like to just chat, show appreciation or give me suggestions to better my technique, I would love to hear from you! Please, feel free to comment below or you can send me a private message by filling out my Contact Form on my Contact page.

Have an amazingly awesome day! ♡

Springtime has arrived!

Spring is finally here! The weather is a bit warmer, the trees are blooming and the sky is constantly blue. Yay! I love spring.

With the warmer weather I pulled out my camera and did our yearly blossom tree pictures. The girls are looking forward to those every year.

This year we added our littlest member of the family and what a fun he is. We feel truly blessed (especially on those nights when he sleeps like a baby).

Enjoy:

He is here!

Our sweet baby boy has arrived! With ten little toes and ten little fingers, baby Ray has arrived on November 15th, 2016 weighing at 6 lbs. 8oz. and measuring 20 1/2 inches.

We feel extremely blessed and big sisters are excited to be playing a big part in taking care of a new baby.

We are adjusting and trying to get the best out of our new routine. Baby Ray is a really good baby. At almost 4 months he is finding his hands to be quite amazing. Nothing is as good as a hand sandwich! He already rolled from his tummy and recognizes everyone in his inner circle. He shows us his big toothless grin every chance he gets. He loves to eat and sleeps like a champion, letting mommy and daddy to enjoy their rest too.

Enjoy:

First Post

To start this part of my website I would like to show you a few of my latest photographs and tell you a bit more about my camera.

My late father-in-law, THE amazing Robert Urich, left a fabulous camera to my husband, who is not too much into photography. I think he prefers anything to do with learning and practicing medicine or Call of Duty video game. I, on the other hand, was (and still am) mesmerized by the art of photography. The original camera was Pentax P3N (I think) with many fantastic lenses. I decided to purchase Pentax SLR myself, so I could utilize all the lenses. I ended up getting Pentax K7.

Also, a few years ago, during summer in family’s Canadian lake house, I found more unused amazing Minolta, Nikon and Pentax lenses. I ended up getting adapters and I’ve been using all of them here and there. Some I think might need a bit of tlc, as moisture might have gotten inside and cause slight damage, but they still take great pictures. My favorite lens so far is Pentax-FA 645 1:2.8 45mm. All the pictures below were taken using this lens.

I prefer taking pictures of my kids as they are truly beautiful girls. Yep, proud and biased mommy moment.

I edit the pictures in Photoshop CS6. I take both RAW and JPG files. It is easier for me to edit RAW files, but I still like the original JPG file.

I also utilize numerous photoshop actions, namely Greater than Gatsby collection. So far my favorite. I often reach out for Retouch Necessities and Newborn Essentials.

You probably (or hopefully) can’t see, but the picture above was retouched a bit more than any other. My little one was eating seaweed and she is rather a messy eater, so I had to retouch her whole face … I used the Healing Brush Tool and tiny brush. I just loved her little pose, so I didn’t want to retake it. She is my little poser. My older daughter goes for the “sophisticated” look. She will be entering double-digits this year and is for sure acting like a teenager already. Gosh! Lord help me through this phase!

All these pictures were retouched, except the one below (of our kitty Katniss). The light was much lighter, so I didn’t feel the need to do too much editing. It might be a tad over-exposed, but I like the contrast on her fur. I often struggle with the correct ISO and shutter speed. I am learning as I go 🙂 Youtube videos are my teacher.
